WORK BEGINS IN DEMOLISHING THE POQUOSON MUSEUM BARN,
DESTROYED
IN THE NOVEMBER 2007 FIRE
On Saturday, March 22, demolition work began on the remaining portions of the Poquoson Museum Barn, severely damaged by fire last year. Museum members began work that morning performing the demolition and moving the debris into a hugh pile for pick up and disposal.
The demolition work comprises the first phase of the of the museum's "Barn Rebuild" project. The architectual drawing for the new barn has been completed and approved by the museum board. Construction should start once the debris has been removed. The museum would very much like to involve the community in the project and is planning an "old fashioned barn raising". Your volunteer help or contribution would be greatly appreciated.
To volunteer for the "Barn Rebuild", please call 868-9116. For further information call 868-7630.
Donations may be sent to: Poquoson Museum, PO Box 2163, Poquoson, VA 23662.
Members of the museum thank you for your consideration and help in making this a museum of which we can all be proud.
